PADI Staff Instructor

Ready for the next level? Continue your diving education with this challenging, hands-on PADI Staff Instructor course.
If you’ve already got your instructor certification, the next step is usually to work towards becoming a Master Instructor, or even to look to higher Course Director Training. It goes without saying that moving up to the next level means hard work and dedication. For example, in order to become a Master Instructor, you need to certify at least five Assistant Instructors. But, in order to teach the Assistant Instructor program, you need your PADI Staff Instructor certification.
There are plenty of other plus points from gaining your PADI Staff Instructor certification, though. Perhaps the most beneficial is that you’ll increase the number of different courses you can teach. You’ll also be able to teach Assistant Instructor courses, plus Staff Instructors are an integral part of the Instructor Development course. The course can give your career a big boost, too. Many management positions at dive centres need this level of instructor experience and training.
Two days of preparation kick off the PADI Staff Instructor course, before you audit an entire Instructor Development Course to gain your certification. The two-day run up to the IDC is challenging, but it’s rewarding. You’ll be able to brush up on your demonstration and teaching skills, as well as learning about scoring and critiquing instructor candidates. And when it’s time to audit the IDC, you’ll be doing it as a staff member, not as a student. Once you’re a seasoned Staff Instructor, you’ll be able to share your experience with up-and-coming PADI leaders and train the next generation of PADI instructors.
