PADI Instructor Development Course
This comprehensive course will qualify you to teach scuba divers in the classroom, confined water and open water anywhere in the world.
Pass the PADI Instructor Development course and you’ll be all set to teach scuba diving anywhere in the world. You’ll be introduced to the PADI system of diver education and taught all the tools you’ll need to train scuba divers in the classroom, in confined water and in open water. The comprehensive course is the cornerstone of PADI professional-level training, so it’s challenging and hard work. But our expert instructors make sure it’s a fun experience, too. And once you’ve got your certification, you’ll be a diving teacher who can work anywhere in the world. So the sky – or rather the sea – is your limit.
You’ll need a sufficient knowledge of diving theory under your belt to sign up for the PADI Instructor Development, as no formal theory presentations are ticked off on the course. Other criteria you need to meet include a PADI Divemaster or equivalent certification, 100 logged dives and you’ll need to have passed your First Aid, CPR and CFC in the last two years. Don’t worry if you’re not quite there yet, though. We’ve got a huge menu of courses to get you up to scratch, so you’ll be learning to teach in no time.
The PADI Instructor Development course kicks off in the classroom and ticks off all sorts of topics, including the PADI standards and procedures, risk management and teaching children. You’ll then move onto practical things like skill demonstration workshops in the pool, teaching PADI speciality diver courses and instructor training dives in open water. It’s a full-on programme, concluding with dive theory and PADI standards exams and teaching presentations.
